Hepatitis B & Pregnancy

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) can be passed from an infected woman to her child during birth. The best way to prevent perinatal hepatitis B is for babies to be vaccinated at birth. It is important to protect your baby and others in your family from hepatitis B. Talk with your doctor if you have other questions about hepatitis B. If you have questions about vaccinating, call the Perinatal Hepatitis B program, 800-657-3970 or 800-657-3970.
