COVID-19 Treatment

Minnesota Free Test to Treat Program – Minnesotans who test positive for COVID-19 with a positive test taken at their home or at a lab, can download the Cue Health app, sign up with their Minnesota address and have a virtual consultation with a licensed healthcare provider who will evaluate and determine treatment options available to you. If you are a candidate for treatment, the provider will issue a prescription to a local pharmacy, and in some areas of the state, the prescription can be delivered to your home.

COVID-19 Testing

COVID-19 Vaccine

2023-2024 COVID-19 VACCINE RECOMMENDATIONS

On September 12, 2023, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced updated COVID-19 vaccine recommendations. Everyone age 6 months and older is recommended to get at least one dose of the new 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine to be considered up to date. This updated vaccination is especially important for people at high-risk of hospitalization and death.

Summary of updated COVID-19 vaccine recommendations

  • Children 6 months through 4 years of age should get at least one dose of the new 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine. The timing and number of doses depends on previous COVID-19 vaccines received.
  • People 5 years of age and older should receive one dose of the new 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine. If they have received any previous COVID-19 vaccine, the new 2023-2024 vaccine should be given at least 2 months after any previous dose.
  • People who are immunocompromised should have three doses with at least one of the doses being the new 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine. They may also receive additional 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine doses based on their clinical situation.

In February 2024, the CDC announced updated COVID-19 vaccine recommendations. The recommendation acknowledges the increased risk of severe disease from COVID-19 in older adults, along with the currently available data on vaccine effectiveness.

Recommendation:

  • People 65 years of age and older should receive an additional updated 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine dose.
